Beekeeper - scea
from the paisière

Mr. and Mrs. Houpert, passionate about nature, turned to beekeeping in 1980. Their honeys have been presented and awarded prizes at the Lorraine Regional Competition since 1989, and regularly win awards at the Paris General Competition, including the Prize of Excellence in 2013 and 2017, and the Gold Medal in 2016 for acacia and linden honeys. They have received 38 medals in total. Most recently, on February 5, 2026, the 9th French Honey Competition was held at the Economic, Social and Environmental Council (CESE) in Paris, bringing together nearly 300 French and international judges. This event, organized by the French National Beekeeping Union, celebrates the richness of French terroirs and the expertise of French beekeepers. Among the 176 medals awarded in the honey category, Jacques and Marie-Thérèse HOUPERT obtained a gold medal for their fir honey and a silver medal for their acacia honey. In order to offer a varied range of honey, the night transhumance of the 150 to 180 hives is practiced throughout the Eastern region.
