Among the nine hiking trails established in the commune of Vathiménil to crisscross the surrounding meadows, fields, and woods, the "La Corvée" circuit offers a 12,8 km walk or bike ride. Its name recalls a very old tradition that mainly concerned the hardy peasants of the countryside and which consisted of providing free work for the lord, public institutions, or even the landowner. It's no surprise that this word has a negative connotation, but I promise, the walk is synonymous with nothing but pleasure! Even if the planned distance requires a little courage!
