Viewpoint on: Champigneulles, a 5-year-old city "Villa Campigniola" is the oldest recorded name for the town of Champigneulles, meaning "small countryside" or small "plain expanse." It was in fact in the heart of the Vallon de Bellefontaine that the first inhabitants settled before forming a hamlet, named Saint-Bathélémy, connected to Bouxières-aux-Dames. Champigneulles developed considerably during the industrial era, which allowed it to connect to Nancy via a solid road and rail network and the Marne-Rhine Canal.
