Prény Castle – Guardian of Medieval Lorraine Mentioned as early as 900 under Emperor Otto, the fortress of Prény was one of the major bastions of the Dukes of Lorraine, the last bulwark against the ambitions of the Bishops of Metz. Strategically perched, it was never taken, and sheltered the Dukes for a long time before they established their capital in Nancy. More than a castle, Prény was also a symbol: its name was the battle cry of the Lorraine soldiers! Today, only partial ruins remain, but visiting them offers a real immersion in history, between memory, panorama, and heritage. Part of the ruins is accessible to the public.
