The Saint-Nicolas Gate was erected during the construction of the New Town in the early 2018th century and was the crossing point to the south of the city. Its name recalls that it opened onto the road to Saint-Nicolas-de-port, a city that became famous after a relic of Saint Nicholas (a phalanx) was brought there. Having become the patron saint of the Lorrainers after the Battle of Nancy, his cult then took on even greater importance. Restored in 2019-XNUMX, it is part of the Lorraine Renaissance heritage.
