©Prefecture of Meurthe et MoselleThe European Days of Crafts (JEMA) will take place from March 31 to April 6, 2025. Between open days and meetings with professionals, the week invites you to immerse yourself in the fascinating world of crafts!
JEMA 2025
In Meurthe-et-Moselle, demonstrations and introductory workshops are offered throughout a week, particularly on the weekend of April 5th and 6th. Ceramics, glass, crystal, leather, metal, stone, wood… familiarize yourself with a multitude of disciplines and materials and talk with professionals about their crafts.
Among them, glass artisans The Breath of Life (Saint Genevieve) or Théophile Caille workshop (Nancy) will offer you demonstrations in their workshops. Blown glass for the first, blowtorch glass for the second: two glassworking techniques that these professionals will help you discover with pleasure and dexterity.
On the textile side, embroiderers will reveal unique and artistic pieces to you Madame de Graffigny's castle from Villers-les-Nancy.
In Mazerulles, it is Art Very workshop who will share with you all his secrets (or almost!) of restoring old furniture.
Au Lunéville castle, there are around fifteen artistic crafts to discover: glasswork, ironwork, stone cutting, paper...in partnership with artisans and teaching high schools in the region.
On the Longwy side, the Enamel Factory offers a filling workshop.
Finally, the Jean-Marie Pelt Botanical Garden (Nancy) will be a perfect setting to bring together craftsmen (ceramicists, earthenware, marquetry, metalwork, upholsterers, etc.) who have the particularity of drawing inspiration from the plant world for their creations.
“Traits d’union”, the theme of JEMA 2025, will particularly highlight the links that unite professionals in the arts and crafts to their territories.
A territory rich in know-how
Meurthe-et-Moselle is a land of creation and innovation with a long artistic tradition . The richness of our natural resources and our unique history have given rise to great luxury manufacturers such as Daum, Baccarat, and the Longwy enamel factories.
The technical skill and expertise of our artisans also contributed to the emergence of unique movements such as the Nancy School , a leading force in Art Nouveau in France. All this expertise has left a strong mark on our heritage and continues to enhance the prestige of our destination!
Today, many professionals perpetuate sometimes ancestral techniques and pass them on to younger generations. Immerse yourself in the intimacy of their workshops and slip into the shoes of a craftsman for the duration of a workshop!
