This site features a monument with commemorative plaques, commemorating the Victory of Lorraine. Indeed, it was at Rozelieures that the French army won its first major victory since the start of the Great War. On August 25, 1914, the German offensive attempted to force its way between Rozelieures and Saint-Rémy-aux-Bois, with the aim of crossing the site known as "the Charmes Gap." But the French army resisted victoriously, which helped slow the enemy invasion.
