THE ESPACE MUSEAL CHAUBET, 1ST WORLD WAR HISTORY

Created jointly by the Communauté de Communes du Lunévillois and the French Souvenir, the Chaubet space (named after a soldier of the 81st IR who tragically disappeared during the battle), offers a sound and image reconstruction of the French soldier's equipment in August 1914. The screening room displays a very complete documentary film, while the museum offers about a hundred objects found on the very site of the Battle of Leomont, and others directly related to the terrible fighting of the summer of 1914. The multimedia area allows you to deepen your visit by discovering excellent sites dedicated to the First World War.

In the same buildings as the museum area, visitors will be able to discover the Memorial Chapel, which has undergone major renovation work. This place of meditation is decorated with pictorial elements representing the different aspects of the battle, which were restored in 2007. This site is connected to Leomont Hill by a landscaped trail. On the slopes of this hill there were bloody battles in August-September 1914. At the top, a monument recalls these painful battles. An orientation table allows walkers to contemplate the 360-degree panorama.
