Situated on a spur, the remains of the castle overlook the towns of Frouard and Pompey, with stunning views across the Meurthe and Moselle. Although little remains of the 13th-century castle (round tower and foundation stones) – which was destroyed in the 17th century by order of Richelieu – the site has recently been redeveloped to give visitors an idea of its original structure and scale.
Visitors can explore the fortress site and remains on their own. Frouard town council has installed an information board, providing historical and architectural details
