Exhibition –
Iron as an inheritance(s)

To mark the centenary of Camille Cavallier (1854-1926), president of the Pont-à-Mousson Blast Furnaces and Foundries, the Abbey presents an exhibition dedicated to the history of iron mining in Lorraine, one of the major European metallurgical centers of the 19th and 20th centuries. This industry shaped the urban and economic landscape of the region. From artistic ironwork (Jean Lamour, Émile Robert) to large steel structures, Lorraine distinguished itself in the production of a wide variety of objects. It contributed to the rise of European industry and today leaves behind a significant heritage. This exhibition is essential for understanding the landscapes that surround us. Includes self-guided tours of the historic monument and its gardens. Guided tours of the exhibition: information available on the Abbey's website. Discount for residents of the Pont-à-Mousson area upon presentation of proof of residence.
