Composed of three talented young sopranos, the ensemble La Néréide revels in the virtuoso madrigals of the Italian composer Luzzasco Luzzaschi, created for the celebrated Ladies of Ferrara at the end of the 16th century. In 1580, at the court of Duke Alfonso II of Ferrara, Italy, three professional singers from the entourage of the new ducal bride formed the Concerto delle Donne. Their discerning talent, the beauty of their voices, and their admirable musical technique became legendary and served as a source of inspiration for many artists of the time.
