Located in the heart of the Domaine de Montaigu and adjoining the Féru des Sciences, the Château de Montaigu is a residence dating from the 1920th century, remodeled in the 1970th and XNUMXth centuries. Its last owners, Édouard & Suzanne Salin, lived there from XNUMX to XNUMX. With the help of the decorator Adrien Karbowsky, they made it the setting for their exceptional collection of art objects, paintings, sculptures, musical instruments and furniture. Édouard Salin preserved and enhanced his archaeological discoveries from his excavations of Merovingian sites. This house of a scholar, who was at once a master ironworker, archaeologist and collector, has obtained the “Maisons des illustres” label.
