The Musée des Amis du Vieux Pays is located in the partly restored medieval castle of Dieulouard. It presents the Gallo-Roman remains of the Scarpone site and the reconstruction of a small Gallo-Roman cemetery of burials under tiles. The great Roman road from Lyon to Trier via Metz crossed the Moselle at Dieulouard, the ancient Scarpone. This agglomeration installed on the low alluvial terrace was divided into islets, connected by stone and wooden bridges and remained in the early Middle Ages a strategic place for crossing the Moselle. - Open every Sunday from March to November (14 p.m./18 p.m.) - Guided tours for groups (min. 10 people) by appointment.
