Usually closed to the public, Villa Mathieu is exceptionally opening its doors for a private tour. Built between 1936 and 1938 near the Mathieu factory, this elegant residence exemplifies the refinement of Art Deco architecture. Commissioned by Rémond Mathieu, then head of the family business, it reflects a certain art of living in the interwar period. Inside, the meticulous décor bears the signature of renowned artisans: the painter Auguste Ramel created the ornaments in the living room, while the stained-glass windows, the work of Nancy master glassmaker William Geissler, diffuse a subtle light that enhances the spaces. Damaged during the bombings of 1940, the villa was restored by the architect Gaston Schmit, thus preserving its original elegance. This visit is a rare opportunity to immerse oneself in the Art Deco world and discover a discreet yet extraordinary heritage. Please note that the villa contains many stairs, making the visit inaccessible to people with reduced mobility, and not recommended for people with mobility difficulties.
