Located in the pedestrian area of Place Stanislas, at 21 rue Gambetta, the Maison des Sœurs Macarons, founded in 1793 and run by pastry chef Nicolas Génot, is the only family confectionery to hold the secret and coveted recipe for the authentic Nancy macaron: the Sisters' macaron. This delicate pastry, a blend of egg white, sugar, and almonds from Provence – exclusively – is inherited from two sisters (Marie Morlot and Marguerite-Suzanne Gaillot) of the Benedictine community of the Blessed Sacrament. The Sisters' macaron is characterized by its beautiful cracked shape, a crushed almond flavor, and a shelf life of up to four weeks. La Maison des Sœurs Macarons is also the first Lorraine gastronomic company to have obtained, in 2012, the EPV State label - Entreprise du patrimoine vivant, a recognition label awarded by the Ministry of the Economy distinguishing French companies with excellent artisanal know-how. A refined confectionery offering the Sisters' unique macaron, the Bergamote de Nancy, labeled, for nearly 30 years, IGP (protected geographical indication) and Mirabelle plum specialties as well as chocolates and artisanal fruit jellies, La Maison Des Sœurs Macarons offers sales services on site and online in France and abroad.
