The site consists of a stream, two ponds, wetlands, meadows, and some limestone lawns, all nestled in a wooded valley adjacent to the Haye forest massif. This mosaic of environments is home to a rich and diverse nature closely linked to water. Its location, 15 minutes from Nancy, contributes to making it an ideal place to discover nature. Currently, the main access to the Bellefontaine valley is from the Champigneulles swimming pool, and a path runs alongside the pond. An educational trail of approximately 2,2 km, accessible to people with disabilities, will be developed around the Bel'Etang. Work on this site will take place in 2024, so part of it is closed to the public.
