German Pierrepont

This German cemetery was created in the autumn of 1914. At the end of the war, soldiers exhumed in neighboring towns were grouped there. 3017 soldiers are buried there. In its center, a monument made of Jaumont stone was erected. It is an arch symbolizing the passage to the afterlife. It is surmounted by a recumbent lion, which symbolizes submission.
