Opening up to the city and improving its environment: this is what motivated the Nancy University Hospital (CHRU) to commission a mural of over 100 square meters in the heart of the Central Hospital. The graffiti artist Jace won the vote of professionals and patient representatives from among the shortlisted urban artists. A first for the CHRU, the project was developed in partnership with the Nancy-based association Le MUR, in conjunction with the City of Nancy's cultural department and with the support of the hospital's department heads' association. Inaugurated on September 6, 2019, the artwork will be officially included in the ADN (Art Dans Nancy) art trail in 2020. Born in Le Havre in 1973, Jace has lived on Réunion Island since 1982. Known for his clownish characters, the Gouzous, he specializes in repurposing advertising posters. The humor and originality of his compositions are often heightened by their placement in unusual locations.
