Property of the bishops of Metz until the middle of the 1335th century, the old town of Nomeny was fortified until the 1365th century. Its ramparts built from XNUMX to XNUMX were destroyed on the orders of Richelieu. Its Romanesque fortress (XNUMXth century) and its Gothic castle (XNUMXth century) were destroyed on the orders of Louis XIV. Only the remains of three towers, three curtain walls and two ditches of the fortress remain, as well as the paving stones of the castle courtyard... Free visit.
