A masterpiece of 16th-century Flamboyant Gothic architecture, the Basilica of Saint Nicholas is a major pilgrimage site in Lorraine, classified as a Historical Monument.
Built in the 16th century, the Basilica of Saint-Nicolas-de-Port is one of the most prestigious religious monuments in Lorraine. It brilliantly illustrates Flamboyant Gothic architecture, notably through its soaring elevations and the richness of its sculpted decoration.
A major pilgrimage site dedicated to Saint Nicholas, patron saint of Lorraine, it has benefited from significant restorations, made possible thanks to the patronage of Camille Croué-Friedman, allowing it to regain its original splendor.
The interior houses an organ also classified as a Historical Monument, as well as a vast, luminous volume characteristic of Gothic aesthetics.
