Originally a 12th-century castle with a drawbridge and moat, it became a large, quadrangular manor house in the 19th century, with a hipped slate roof in the Lorraine style. Around 1905, it was extended with wings and transformed into an elegant residence. The castle and its grounds have been owned by the City of Jarny since 1980. This estate boasts both remarkable architectural and natural heritage. The grounds are classified as a "Garden of France" and a refuge for the League for the Protection of Birds. They also feature several ponds, one of which nourishes the roots of a remarkable bald cypress tree. The castle itself possesses undeniable heritage value, both inside and out. The Old Dovecote and the former outbuildings adjoin the estate. The castle is currently undergoing restoration.
