The association is developing a Memory Route project for long-distance cyclists in the Grand Est region, across Haut-Rhin, Vosges, Meurthe-et-Moselle, Meuse, and Marne. It is based on the Bornes Vauthier chain, a true "Peace Route 1918" linking all the sites in a way that respects the memory of history. From Pfetterhouse, on the Swiss border to Reims, you can discover many historical sites, both well-known and lesser-known, or even completely unknown, or which hide "a story within History." For these, only a special circumstance (European Heritage Day, local commemoration, etc.) or a more or less long stay (weekend, vacation) through a meeting with local stakeholders will allow access. ALFO's strength lies in its network of elected officials from small towns, associations, local historians, and hosts passionate about the memory of this 1918 Peace Route, marked as such since the years when the Vauthier Markers were installed. Allow 2 to 3 weeks to allow the necessary time to meet our territory, our History, and our Memory.
